Etymology: After Ciudad Victoria, Tamaulipas
State, Mexico, the closet town to the locality, and Greek,
conos, "cone" and Greek, odontos, "tooth."
Species: inaequalis MONTELLANO, HOPSON, & CLARK, 2008
Etymology: Laitn, inqeualis with reference to the unequal height of the molar
cusps, a primitive feature relative to the condition in most Late Jurassic
and Cretaceous tricondontids.
Holotype: IGM 3493
Locality: Rene's Roost, Huizachal Canyon, Municipio de Ciudad Victoria, Tamaulipas State, Mexico.
Horizon: La Boca Formation.
Biostratigraphy:
Age: Early- Middle Jurassic.
Material: Anterior portion of a right mandible with p2-4, m1, and partial alveolus of canine and alveolus of p1.
