Genus: Yanoconodon LUO, CHEN, LI & CHEN, 2007
Etymology: Yan in reference to the Yan mountains in Northern Hebei Province, China and Latin, conodon, "cuspate tooth"; a common suffix for mammalian taxonomic names.

Species: allini LUO, CHEN, LI & CHEN, 2007
Etymology: In honor of Edgar Allin's studies on mammalian ear evolution.

Holotype: NJU-P06001A and counterpart NJU-P06001B

Locality: Daluozigou Locality, 41°49'N, 116°31'E, Fengning County, Hebei Province, China.

Horizon: Yixian Formation (125-122 mya)

Age: Early Cretaceous.

Material: Fragmentary skull and nearly complete skeleton.
