Genus: Zofialestes FOSTOWICZ-FRELIK, 2016
Etymology: Zofia-, in honor of the late Professor Zofia Kielan-Jaworowska, my demanding but always generous-to-teach mentor, and Greek, -lestes, "robber or theif," a common suffix for small mammals of suggested predatory behavior.

Species: longidens FOSTOWICZ-FRELIK, 2016
Etymology: Latin, longus, "long" and Latin, dens, "tooth"; refering to a notably elongated lower incisor.

Holotype: ZPAL MgM-I/135

Locality: Nemegt, Eastern Sayr, Nemegt Basin, Ömnögov (South Gobi), Mongolia.

Horizon: Baruungoyot Formaiton Formation.

Biostratigraphy:

Age: ?late Campanian Stage, Senonian Subepoch, Gulf Epoch, Late Cretaceous.

Material: Fragmentary right mandible body wiht partially preserved lower incisor i1, root portion of c and p1, and p3-m3 in situ.
