Etymology: Hungarian, apro, "after" and Greek, suchos, "crocodile": Adzh-Bogdo Mountains crocodile.

Species: ghirai VENCZEL & CODREA, 2019
Etymology: In honor of Ioan Ghira, eminent herpetologist from the Babes-Bolyai University, Cluj-Napoca, who has an important contribution to the field of herpetology.

Holotype: UBB V.562/1

Locality: Pui Gater locality, near Pui Village, Bihor County, Hateg Basin, Transylvania, Romania.

Horizon: 'Pui Beds'. Note: correlates to the lower part of the Sanpetru Formation.

Biostratigraphy:

Age: Early Maastrichtian Stage, Late Senonian Subepoch, Late Gulf Epoch, Late Late Cretaceous.

Material: Incomplete skull lacking its anterodorsal part (premaxilae and nasals) with strongly damaged parts of pterygoids, basisphenoids, left qquadrat adn posterior part of right mandible.
