Genus: Coronelsuchus PINHEIRO, de SOUZA, BANDEIRA, BRUM, PERIERA, de CASTRO, RAMOS & SIMBRAS, 2021
Etymology: In referene to Coronel Goulart Locality, where type speicmen was collected and Greek, souchos,
"crocodile," leading to Latin Suchus.

Etymology: In honor of
Mr. Cival, the landowner where the fossiliferous quarry is located.
Holotype: FFP PG 13
Locality: CG6 site, Coronel Goulart District, Alvarez Machado Municipality, Presiden Prudente metropolitan region, northwest Sao Paulo State, Brazil.
Horizon: Aracatuba Formation.
Biostratigraphy:
Age: Turonian Stage, Uppermost Gallic Subepoch-Santonian Stage, Lower Senonian Subepoch, Lower Gulf Epoch, Late Cretaceous.
Material: Partially preserved skull and mandible, proatlas and first 3 cervical vertebrae, right scapulae partially preserved and the right forelimb, except metacarpals and digits.
Paratype:
FFP PG 14: Badly preserved skull remains, but some teeth and postcranial remains.
