Genus: Enalioetes SACHS, YOUNG, HORNUNG, COWGILL, SCHWAB & BRUSATTE, 2024
Etymology: Greek, enalios, "from the sea" and Greek, -etes, suffix denoting dweller or the one from; together meaning 'sea dweller', referring to the palaeoenvironment of the taxon. The nomen is of masculine grammatical gender.

Etymology: In honor of Henry Schroeder, who prepared the specimen and was the first to decribt it. Given how entrenched the epithet schroederi is in the literature, we believe formally establishign the spcific epithet herein to be the best way to ensure nomenclature stablity; 'Schroder's ring lizard'.

Holotype: MM Pa1 (old MMGLV unnumbered)

Locality: Sachsenhagen, Lower Saxony northern Germany.

Horizon: Lowermost Stadthagen Formation.

Biostratigraphy: Platylenticeras robustum Boreal ammonite biozone.

Age: Lower Valanginian Stage, Middle Neocomian Subepoch, Early Early Cretaceous Epoch, Early Cretaceous.

Material: Imperfect skull, lower jaw, atlas, axis, 3rd cervical vertebra.
