Genus: Morrinhosuchus IORI & CARVALHO, 2009
Etymology: In reference to the sampling area, in the proximity of Morrinho de Santa Luzia, a hill where was built a chapel in glorification to the Saint Luzia, Monte Alto County, Sao Paulo State, Brazil and Greek, souchos, "crocodile."

Species: luziae IORI & CARVALHO, 2009
Etymology: In honor of the Saint Luzia.

Holotype: MPMA 07-0009/01

Locality: 13 km from Monte Alto, near the foothill of Morrinhyo de Santa Luzia, 21°13'13,02"S, 48°34'10,42"W, in the rural area of Monte Alto County, Sao Paulo State, Brazil.

Horizon: Adamantina Formation, Bauru Group.

Biostratigraphy:

Age: Turonian Stage, Uppermost Gallic Subepoch-Santonian Stage, Lower Senonian Subepoch, Lower Gulf Epoch, Late Cretaceous.

Material: Distal portion of the skull and dentary.
