Etymology: Kiswahili, Paka, "cat" and Greek, souchos, "crocodile": In reference to it short lowe skull with malariform teeth reminiscent of carnassials in mammalian carnivores.

Age: Albian Stage, Middle Gallic Subepoch, Latest Early Cretaceous Epoch, Middle Cretaceous.

Material: Articulated skull and skeleton.
