Genus: Rodeosuchus JOUVE, de MUIZON, CESPEDES-PAZ, SOSSA-SORUCO & KNOLL, 2020
Etymology: In reference to the Rodeo river that passes close to the type locality (Cementerio de Tortugas), and Latinized Ancient Greek, soukhos, "Egyptian crocodile god Sobek."

Etymology: Quechua, machu kiru, "large teeth." In reference to the size of the teeth observed in teh species. The name is a noun in apposiiton.

Locality: Cementerio de Tortugas, a field in a palce known as Molle Cancha, close to the village of Torotoro, Charcas Province, Department of Potosi, Bolivia.
Horizon: Middle Santa Lucia Formation.
Biostratigraphy:
Age: Lower Danian Stage, Paleocene Epoch, Lower Paleogene Period, Tertiary Subera, Cenozoic Era.
Material: A nearly complete skull lacking the posterior palatal surface and most of the basicranium.
Referred material:
Locality: < 4 km southeast of the Cementerio de Tortugas, a field in a palce known as Molle Cancha, close to the village of Torotoro, Charcas Province, Department of Potosi, Bolivia.
Horizon: Middle Santa Lucia Formation.
