Genus: Titanochampsa FACHINI, GODOY, MARSOLA, MONTEFELTRO & LANGER, 2022
Etymology: Greek, titan, "large/brutal" and Greek, champsa, "crocodile." In reference to the large size of the animal and also its previous identificat as a titanosaur dinosaur.

Etymology: In honor of Brazilina palaeontologist Fabiano V. Iori, due to his numerous contributions to the palaeontology fothe Monte Alto Region.
Holotype: MPMA 02-005/87
Locality: On the embankments of a secondary road that gives access to the rural district of Agua Limpa, 3.5 km west from Monte Alto, 21°16'28.9"S, 48°32'13.4"W, Sao Paulo State, Brazil.
Horizon: Marilia Formation.
Biostratigraphy:
Age: Maastrichtian Stage, late Senonian Subepoch, late Gulf Epoch, Late Cretaceous.
Material: A partial cranial roof including frontal, parietal, supraoccipital, right postorbital, squamosal, quadrate, quadratojugla, and laterosphenoid.
