Etymology: In reference to Lourinha, a district of Lisboa, Portugal.

Species: alenquerensis (de LAPPARENT & ZBYSZEWSKI, 1957) DANTAS, SANZ, da SILVA, ORTEGA, dos SANTOS, & CACAHO, 1998

Holotype:

Locality : Praia de Porto Dinheiro outcrop, western side of the Luistanian basin, Portugal.

Horizon: Lourinha Formation.

Biostratigraphy:

Age: Upper Kimmeridgian-Tithonian Stage, Middle-Late Malm Epoch, Late Jurassic.

Material: 12 vertebrae, dorsals and posterior cervicals, 12 costelas, fragmentary limb bones, isolated teeth and gastralia. Over 100 gastroliths.
