Etymology: orientalis refers to the east.

Holotype: NGMC 97-4-002

Locality: Sihetun, Shangyuan, near Beipiao City, Liaoning Province, China.

Horizon: Lower part of the Yixian Formation.

Biostratigraphy:

Age: Early Cretaceous.

Material: Fragmentary skull and fragmentary skeleton lacking cervicals, first dorsals, most of the pectral girdle, lower legs and distal caudals.
Note: Has gastroliths.
