Genus: Carnidactylus DALLA VECCHIA, 2009
Etymology: "Carnia" the name of the zone of northern Friuli where the holotype was found and Greek, dactylus, 'finger'.

Holotype: MFSN 1797

Locality: Approximately 500 m a.s.l. along the Forchiar Creek, northern slope of Lovinzola Mt., Enemonzo, Carnia, Udine Province, Friuli-Venezia Giulia Region, Udine, Friuli-Venezia Giula Province, northeastern Italy.

Horizon: Dolomia di Forni Formation.

Biostratigraphy: H. hogarti Zone - H. macer Zone, Alunian 2-3.

Age: Middle Norian Stage, Upper Late Triassic Epoch, Late Triassic.

Material: Posterior region of the skull and mandible, both wings, part of the shoulder girdle and both hind limbs and parts of the wing membrane.
