Etymology: In reference to the village of Xiaotazi, where the specimen was
found.
Holotype: IVPP V18631
Locality: Xiaotaizi Village, Lamadong Town, Jianchang County, Liaoning Province, China.
Horizon: Jiufotang Formation.
Biostratigraphy:
Age: Early Cretaceous.
Material: Skull and skeleton, with feather impressions.
