Etymology: In reference to the Hongshan culture, one of the earliest Chinese
cultures mainly recorded in this region.
Species: longicresta ZHOU & ZHANG, 2005
Etymology: Latin cresta, refers to the raised crest of this bird.
Holotype: IVPP V14533
Locality: Shifo, Ningcheng, Inner Mongolia, China.
Horizon: Yixian Formation.
