Species: chaoyangensis ZHANG, ZHANG, HOU & GU, 2001
Etymology: In reference to the city of Chaoyang wehre the specimens were collected.

Holotype: IVPP V 12325

Locality: Qidaoquanzi, Chaoyang City, Liaoning Province, China.

Horizon: Jiufotang Formation.

Biostratigraphy:

Age: Early Cretaceous.

Material: A nearly completely articulated skeleton with feather impressions.
