Etymology: In honor of the late Prof. Evgeny Kurochkin, an eminent paleornithologist who advanced our understanding of fossil birds.

Holotype: IVPP V 17964

Locality: Lamadong Town, Jiangchang County, Liaonign Province, China.

Horizon: Jiufotang Formation.

Biostratigraphy:

Age: Early Cretacous.

Material: Nearly complete and partially articulated skeleton.

Note: With feathers close to the skull, and pectoral girdle, and 5 pennaceous feathers.
