Locality: Jianshangou-Sihetun area of Beipiao, Shangyuan, Beipiao, Liaoning Province, China.

Horizon: Yixian Formation (Jiufotang Formation, = Chaomidianzi Formation of Ji et al, 1998), Jehol Group.

Biostratigraphy:

Age: Early Cretaceous.

Material: Nearly complete specimen with ‘feather’ impressions.

Referred material:

NIGP 127587: Nearly complete skeleton, lacking only the distal end of tail.

Note: 2 eggs and a lower jaw of a lizard in it’s stomach area.

NGMC 2124: A nearly complete skeleton with ‘feather’ impressions.
Note: Initally described by JI & JI (1997). This specimen includes symmetrodont ammal jaws and skeletal elements in the stomach region (CURRIE & CHEN, 2001)

Etymology: lingyuan, a Chinese county-level city where the holotype was found.

Locality: Dawangzhangzi, Lingyuan, Liaoning Province, China.

Horizon Dawangzhangzi bed, Yixian Formation, Upper Jehol Group.

Biostratigraphy:

Age: Barremian Stage, Lower Gallic Subepoch, Middle Early Cretaceous Epoch, Early Cretaceous.

Material: Skull and skeleton missing the feet, and the posterior caudal vertebrae of a juvenile.
