Genus: Linglongtriton JIA & GAO, 2019
Etymology: Chinese (Pinyin), Linglong, refering to the Linglongta Township adjacent ot the Daxishan fossil locality, and Triton, a commonly used suffix fo rsalamander names.

Species: daxishanensis JIA & GAO, 2019
Etymology: Chinese (Pinyin), Daxishan, refering to the Daxishan Village, about 500 m west of the Daxishan fossil locality.

Holotype: PKUP V0277

Locality: Daxishan fossil Locality, N40°52'210", E119°59'297", n15 km northeast of the county town of Jianchang, Liaoning Province, , China.

Horizon: Lanqi/Tiaojishan Formation.

Biostratigraphy:

Age: Upper Jurassic.

Material: Articulated cranial and postcranial skeleton missing the posterior part of the right hemimandible adn part of the autopods in the forelimb.

PKUP V0278: Natural mold of a fully articulated skleton and part and counterparts, with impressions of eyes adn body outline.
