Etymology: Greek, protos, "first" and Draco, the type genus of the SE Asian Draconinae.

Etymology: From Monocoli, a mythical one-legged creature reported by the Greek writer Pliny the Elder who also reported, porbably the first time, an amber-embedded lizard (Plinius, 77, see (Konig & Winkler, 1986)).

Locality: Outcrops of the mine "Noije Bum 2001 Summit Site," Hukawng Valley, Kachin PRovince, Myanmar.
