Etymology: In reference to Chapade do Araripe.

Holotype: BSP 1982 I 89

Locality: Chapade do Araripe, Ceara State, Northeastern Brazil.

Horizon: Romualdo Member, Santana Formation, Araripe Group.

Biostratigraphy:

Age: Late Aptian or Early Albian Stage, Middle Gallic Subepoch, Upper Early Cretaceous Epoch, Early Cretaceous.

Material: Mid-section of skull, anterior portion of dentary, both ceratobranchialia 1 of the hyoid apparatus, right humerus, distal end of right ulna, distal end of right radius, right proximal carpal, right
distal carpal, right distal lateral carpal fragment, proximal end of right metacarpal III, proximal portion of right metacarpal IV, sesamoids of the right carpal area.
Note: Left ramus with a necroses pit, right mandibular ramus has bony overgrowth (BENNETT, 2003).
