Genus: Caupedactylus KELLNER, 2013 (for 2012)
Etymology: The generic name used here is a combination of Caupe that represents the goddess of beauty in the Tupi Culture (one of the main ethnic groups of Brazilian indigenous inhabitants) and Greek, daktylus, 'finger'.

Species: ybaka KELLNER, 2013 (for 2012)
Etymology: The specific name, ybaka, also comes from the Tupi culture and means sky.

Holotype: MN 4726-V

Locality: Was collected between Nova Olinda and Santana do Cariri, Ceara State, Araripe Basin, northeastern Brazil.

Horizon: Romualdo Member, Santana Formation, Araripe Group.

Biostratigraphy:

Age: Late Aptian or Early Albian Stage, Middle Gallic Subepoch, Upper Early Cretaceous Epoch, Early Cretaceous.

Material: Nearly complete skull, lower jaw, complete right scapula and coracoid, proximal part of the left coracoid, sternum, right humerus, proximal portion of first phalanx of the right wing finger, and some incomlete rib elements.

Note: There is a pathology, possibly an infection, that affected the left lateral side of the skull corresponding to teh jugal quadratojugal-quadrate region.
