Etymology:
In reference to Lo Hueco (the type locality) and Greek, titan, the giants of Greek mythology.

Etymology: In reference to Pandafilando de la fosca vista, one of the characters in the novel "The Ingenious Gentlman Don Quixote of La Mancha" (El ingenioso hidalgo don Quijote de la Mancha) written by Miguel de Cervantes and publishied in the early seventeenth century. Pandafilando is, in the mind of the protagonist, a giant against who he must fight.

Locality: Lo Hueco Fossil site, Fuentes, Cuenca, Castilla-La MAncha, central Spain.
Horizon: Margas, Arcillas y Yesos de Villalba de la Sierra Formation.
Biostratigraphy:
Age: Upper Campanian-Lower Maastrichtian Stage, Senonian Subepoch, Gulf Epoch, Late Cretaceous.
