Etymology: In honor of Othniela Charles Marsh, and Greek, sauros, 'lizard'

Locality: Reed’s YPM Quarry 7, (Three Trees Quarry), T22N, R77W, Sec. 18, Como Bluff West (west of Marshall Road), Albany County, Wyoming.

Horizon: Brushy Basin Member, Morrison Formation.

Biostratigraphy: Zone 3.

Age: Comobluffian age, Kimmeridgian Stage, uppermost Malm Epoch, Late Jurassic.

Material: Articulated skeleton on a slab mount and parts of a skeleton and a few duplicated bones.
