Etymology: In honor of Isabel Valdivia Berry, who reported the finding of the holotype material, and Greek, sauros/saura (female), "Lizard."

Etymology: In reference to Los Molles, Neuquen Province, Patagonia, Argentina, where the specimen was discovered.

Holotype: MOZ-Pv 6458

Locality: Los Molles, Neuquen Province, Argentina.

Horizon: Los Molles Formation.

Biostratigraphy:

Age:Toarcian Stage, Late Lias Epoch, Early Jurassic-Bajocian Stage, Ealry Dogger Epoch, Lower Middle Jurassic.

Material: A nearly complete skull, and a patial postcranum consisting of 6 cervical, 15 dorsal a sacrum, and 9 caudal vertebrae, A patial ilium and pubis, part of a scapula, ribs and unidentifiable fragments.

Note: Stomach contents of a mass of permineralized seeds.
