Material:

UFRJ/DG 262-R: A nearly complete articulated tail with osteoderms.
Note: Some of the osteoderms shows bite marks and was due to another Baurusuchus.

Species: salgadoensis de SOUZA CARVALHO, de CELSO ARRUDA CAMPOS & NOBRE, 2005
Etymology: In reference to the county of General Salgado, Sao Paulo State, Brazil, where the specimen was found.

Holotype: MPMA 62-0001-02

Locality: Fazenda Buriti, 20°33.57', 23", 50°28.03', 97"W, Prudencio e Morais District, General Salgado County, Sao Paulo State, Brazil.

Horizon: Adamantina Formation, Bauru Group.

Biostratigraphy:

Age: Turonian Stage, Uppermost Gallic Subepoch-Santonian Stage, Lower Senonian Subepoch, Lower Gulf Epoch, Late Cretaceous.

Material: Skull and mandible.

Note: Has punctures and perforations on top of the skull made by a medium or large ziphodont terrestrial archosaur, possibly a baurusuchid or abelisauridae (VASCONCELLOS & CARVALHO, 2007).
