Etymology: In reference to Fort Wingate, McKinley County, New Mexico, where the specimen was found.

Locality: Region of Fort Wingate, McKinley County, West-central New Mexico.
Horizon: ?Bluewater Creek Formation, Lower Chinle Group.
Biostratigraphy:
Age: Adamanian, Latest Carnian Stage, Late Triassic Epoch, Late Triassic.
Material: Pelvic girdle and fragments of vertebral centra, ribs dermal plates,
and phalanges.
