Etymology: In reference to the Argana basin, Morocco, where the only known material is known.

Etymology:

= Parasuchus (Paleorhinus) magnoculus (DUTUIT, 1977)

Holotype: ALM.1

Locality: Bed XVI, Localtiy XVI, southwest of Imi n’Tanoute, Province de Marrakech, Moroccan Western Atlas.

Horizon: Irohalene Member, Timesgadiouine Formation (Argana Formation?) Argana Group.

Biostratigraphy: Lower level of T5, Middle Series.

Age: Late Carnian or Early Norian Stage, Upper Late Triassic Epoch, Late Triassic.

Material: Nearly complete skull.
Note: Skull of a juvenile non phytosaur phytosaurid (FARA & HUNGERBUHLER, 2000)
