Genus: Arganasuchus JALIL & PEYER, 2007
Etymology: In reference ot Argana, the region in which the fossils were found, and Greek, suchos, 'crocodile'.

Species: dutuiti JAILIL & PEYER, 2007
Etymology: In honor of Jean-michel Dutuit, who devoted his career to the study of the fossil vertebrates from the Arana Basin, and who collected the material.

Holotype: AZA 904

Locality: Locality XVII (according to the nomenclature of Dutuit, 1976) near the village of Azarifen in the north of the Argana Basin, Morocco.

Horizon: Lower part of uint T5 (Irohalene Member), Timezgadiouinte Formation.

Biostratigraphy:

Age: Carnian Stage, Lower Late Triassic Epoch, Lower Late Triassic.

Material: Right pubis.
