Genus: Decuriasuchus FRANCA, FERIGOLO & LANGER, 2011
Etymology: After decury, groups of ten into which the Roman cavalry was divided (reference to the number of individuals in the siet) and Greek, suchos, after the Egyptian crocodile-headed god.

Species: quartacolonia FRANCA, FERIGOLO & LANGER, 2011
Etymology: After "Quarta Colonia," Rio Grande do Sul State, Brazil, region where the fossils were collected.

Holotype: MCN PV10105a

Locality: "Posto" locality, about 200 m north of RS 348 road, within the western outskirts of Dona Francisa, from two different large rivines; 29°37'38"S, 53°22'07W (MCN PV 10105) and 29°37'36"S, 53°22'02'W (MCN PV10004), Rio Grande do Sul State, Brazil.

Horizon: Alemoa Member, Santa Maria Formation, Rosario do Sul Group.

Biostratigraphy: Dinodontosaurus Biozone.

Age: Ladinian Stage, Upper Mid Triassic Epoch, Late Triassic.

Material: Articulated partial skeleton, lacking scapular girdle and limbs.

Paratypes: (MCN PV 10105b-i): 8 specimens associated with holotype.

Breakdown as follows;

MCN PV 10105b: Nearly complete skeleton lacking skull and forelimb parts.

MCN PV 10105c: Skull and nearly complete postcranium.

MCN PV 10105d: Skull and presacral vertebrae.

MCN PV 10105e: Trunk and tail vertebrae, pelvic girdle and limbs.

MCN PV 10105f: Distal half of the tail.

MCN PV 10105g: Tail vertebrae, pelvic girdle and femora.

MCN PV 10105h: Tail vertebra, pelvic girdle and limbs.

MCN PV 10105i: Presacral vertebrae.

Horizon: Pinheiros-Chiniqua Sequence, Santa Maria Supersequence.

Biostratigraphy:

Age: Landian Stage, Late Mid Triassic Epoch, Middle Triassic-Carnian Stage, Early Late Triassic Epoch, Early Late Triassic.
