Etymology: Latin, hortus, "park or grounds"; Named for Devil's Playground,
the locality in Petrified Forest National Park from which all specimens of
this taxon originate.

Locality: Devil's Playground, Petrified Forest National Park, Apache County, Arizona.
Horizon: Lower Petrified Forest Formation, Chinle Group.
