Etymology:

Species: romeri ARCUCCI, 1988
Etymology: In honor of Alfred Sherwood Romer.

Holotype: PVL 4601

Locality: Los Chanares type locality, near the mouth of Chanares River, Talampaya National Park, La Rioja, La Rioja Province, Argentina.

Horizon: lower memer of the Chanares Formation.

Biostratigraphy:

Age: Ladinian Stage, Upper Mid Triassic Epoch, Late Triassic.

Material: Articulated skull and skeleton missing manus, with osteoderms over the neural spines.

Referred material:

PVL 4602: Fragmentary skull, mandible, vertebrae, fragment of pelvis, both Femora, tibia, and fibula.

PVL 4603: Posterior region of skull, complete vertebral column, ilium, ischia, and dermal armor.

PVL 4604: Scapula, coracoid, humerus, radius and ulna.

PVL. 4605: Skull and mandible, with articulated presacral vertebral column, and articulated left scapula, coracoid, humeurs, complete pelvis, femora (the right complte) articulated left and right tibia and fibula, articulated left distal tarsals articulated, articulated comlpete left pes, 7 proximal caudal vertebrae, and 7 distal caudal.

PVL 4606: Skull, mandibles, complete articulated presacral vertebral series, sacrum, pelvis articulated, left femur, tibia, fibula, tarsus and complete pes..

PVL 4624: Femur, tibia, fibula, and metatarsals.

PULR unnumbered: Partial postcranium associated with the holotypes of Lagosuchus talampayensis (PULR 09) and Gracilisuchus stipanicicorum (PULR 08).

Locality: Southwest part of the Los Chanares locality, “2 km north of the mouth of Rio Chanares,” more accurately located 3 km north of the north branch of the Chanares River and 5 km southwest of the Puerta de Talampaya, about 2 km north of the mouth of Rio Chanares, La Rioja Province, Argentina.

Horizon: Los Chanares Formation.

Biostratigraphy:

Age: Ladinian Stage, Upper Mid Triassic Epoch, Late Triassic.

Material:

MCZ 9482 (Unnumbered): Dorsal vertebrae, femur, tibia and fibula.
Note: Found with the type of Gracilisuchus.
