Etymology: Greek, apato, "deceptive", alluding to the difficulity of identifying edentulous beaks and Greek, ramfos, "beak."

Etymology: Greek, gyro, "rounded" and Greek, stego, "roof." In reference to the roudned dorsal surface of the rostrum.

Holotype: FSAC-KK 5010

Locality: Aferdou N'Chaft, Begaa, 30°53'55.73"N, 3°50'46.26"W, d'Errachidia Province, China.

Horizon: Kem Kem Beds.

Biostratigraphy:

Age: ?Albian Stage, Late Early Cretaceous Epoch, Middle Gallic Subepoch, Late Early Cretaceous-Early Cenomanian Stage, Late Gallic Subepoch, Early Gulf Subepoch, Middle Cretaceous.

Material: Partial probable premaxilla missing the anterior tip and not extending posteriorly as far as the anterior border of the nasoantorbital fenestra.
