Etymology: Latin, bellus, "beautiful" and Brunn from the locality of the holotype specimen.

Etymology: In honor of Monika Rothgaenger who found the holotype.

Locality: Brunn quarry (a small stone pit at the "Kohlstatt locality") between the villages of Brunn and Wischenhofen, Upper Palatinate, Eastern Bavaria State, Germany.

Horizon: Rhytmic Plattenkalk (Solnhofen Lithographic Limestone)

Biostratigraphy: Beckeri-zone, Subeumela subzone.

Age: Late Kimmeridgian Stage, Middle Malm Epoch, Late Jurassic.

Material: Skull and skeleton of a juvenile.
