Etymology:
Latin, caelestis, "heavenly or divine" and Latin, ventus, "wind": refering to the volant nature of pterosaurs.

Etymology: In honor of Robin L. Hanse, Bureau of Land Managment (BLM) geologist, who facilitated work at the Saints & Sinners Quarry.
Holotype: BYU 20707
Locality: Saints and Sinners Quarry, Unitah County, Utah.
Horizon: Nugget Sandstone.
Biostratigraphy:
Age: Late Norian Stage, Late Triassic Epoch, Late Triassic.
Material: Fragmentary skull and fragmentary skeleton.
