Species: prolatus ANDRES & JI, 2008
Etymology: Latin, prolatus, "extended or elongated"; in reference
to the elongate second and third phalanges of the wing finger that gives this
specimen long, slim wings reminiscent of the kits.
Holotype: NGMC 99-07-1
Locality: Sihetun Basin, Beipiao Municipality, Liaoning Province, China.
Horizon: Bed 6 of Member 3, Lower Yixian Formation.
Biostratigraphy:
Age: Barremian stage, Lower Gallic Subepoch, Early Cretaceous Epoch, Early Cretaceous.
Material: A partial articulated skeleton.
Scale is 10 cm.
