Genus: Haliskia PENTLAND, POROPAT, DUCAN, KELLNER, BANTIM, BEVITT, TAIT & GRICE, 2024
Etymology: Greek, hals, "sea" and Greek, skia, "shadow, phantom, or evil sprit": thus, a flying creature that cast a shadow on the sea, or a phantom that hunted the long-vanished Eromanga Sea.

Etymology: In honor of Kevin Petersen, who recovered and prepared the specimen.

Holotype: KK F1426

Locality: Dig Site 3, NW of Richmond, Queensland State, Australia.

Horizon: Toolebuc Formation.

Biostratigraphy:

Age: Middle-Upper Albian Stage, Middle Gallic Subepoch, Late Early Cretaceous Epoch, Late Early Cretaceous.

Material: Anterior portion of skull including partial premaxillary crest, complete mandible, both ceratobranchials, 1 cervical, 1 dorsal vertebrae, 12 dorsal ribs, 2 gastralia, left scapulocoracoid, right syncarpus, both lateral carpals, partial right pteroid, right metacarpals-III, non-flight digit manual phalanges and unguals, left and right metacarpal IV, left and right manual phalanges IV-1, partial right manual phalanx IV-2, partial right manual phalanx IV-3, partial left manual phalanx IV-4, 43 teeth, left femur, left tibia, 2 metatarsals, 7 pedal phalanges and associated fragments.
