Etymology: In reference to Qingyan, in the Gansu Province, China, where the
specimen was found.
= Huanhopterus qinyangensis DONG, 1987 (sic)
Holotype: IVPP V9070
Locality: Sanshilpu, Qingyan, Gansu Province, Ordos Basin, China.
Horizon: Huanhe Formation, Middle Zhidan Group.
Biostratigraphy:
Age: Late Jurassic or Early Cretaceous.
Material: Skull lacking posterior end from the front of the nasal, 4 cervical vertebrae, left humerus, ulna, radius, metacarpals, phalanges, sternum, scapula, ribs, dorsal vertebrae, pelvis, femur-tibia-tarsus, and metacarpals.
