Etymology: Latin, lacus, "lake"
and Latin, vagus, "wanderer"; referring to the occurrence of the new taxon
in the Crato water body.
Species: magnificens WITTON, 2008
Etymology: Latin, magnificentia, "grand"; denoting the large size of the new
taxon.
Holotype: SMNK PAL 4325
Locality: Chapada do Araripe Basin, Ceara State, North East Brazil.
Horizon: Nova Olinda Member, Crato Formation.
Biostratigraphy:
Age: Aptian Stage, Middle Gallic Subepoch, Uppermost Early Cretaceous Epoch, Early Cretaceous.
Material: Incomplete skull comprising premaxilla, maxilla, and possibly parts of the jugal incorporated into the maxillary ramus.
