Genus: Moganopterus LÜ, PU, XU, WU, & WEI, 2012
Etymology: Generic name refers to a combination of the first two words of the two famous names of a sword in Chinese History: Moye and Ganjiang. Moye means female and Ganjiang means male, which are never separated from each other. Locality: Xiaosanjiazi Village, Lamadong Town, Jianchang County, Liaoning Province, China.

Horizon: Yixian Formation.

Age: Early Cretaceous.

Material: Nearly complete skull and 3 cervical vertebrae.
