Etymology: In honor of Llewellyn Ivor Price, and Greek, sauros, "lizard."

Species: megalodon MARTINS NETO, 1986 (nomen nudum)
Etymology: Greek, meg, “big, mighty” and Greek, odon, “tooth.”

Holotype: CPCA 3592 (as per Pinheiro et al., 2012)

Locality: Chapade do Araripe, Ceara State, Northeastern Brazil.

Horizon: Romulado Formation, Araripe Group.

Biostratigraphy:

Age: Late Aptian or Early Albian Stage, Middle Gallic Subepoch, Upper Early Cretaceous Epoch, Early Cretaceous.

Material: Distal part of the skull, comprising the premaxillae, palate, palatal alveolar edge, fossa, naso-antorbital fenestra, and nasal.

Referred material?

CPCA 3591, was referred to cf. Anhanguera sp; middle part of a skull, comprising premaxillae, maxillae, vomers and right jugal/quadrtojugal.
