Etymology: In honor of Prof. Qiu Zhanxiang, who has made great contributions
to the Chinese paleontology.
Holotype: IVPP V 12339
Locality: Zhangjiagou, Beipiao City, Liaoning Province, China.
Horizon: Jiangshangou Member, Yixian Formation, Jehol Group.
Biostratigraphy:
Age: Barremain Stage, Lower Gallic Subepoch, Lower Early Cretaceous Epoch, Early Cretaceous.
Material: Most of skull and mandible, and first 2 cervical vertebrae.
