Etymology: Mongolian (Tsogtbaatar), Tsogt, "mighty hero" and Greek, pteryx, "wing".

Species: mongoliensis PEGAS, ZHOU & KOBAYASHI, 2024
Etymology: In reference to Mongolia, where the speicmen was found.

Holotype: MPC-ND 100/303

Locality: Northwestern part of the Bayshin Tsav Locality, Ömnögov (southern Gobi Aimag), Mongolia.

Horizon: Upper Bayanshiree Formation.

Biostratigraphy:

Age: Turonian Stage, Late Gallic Subepoch, Early Gulf Epoch, Middle Cretaceous-Santonian Stage, Senomian Subepoch, Gulf Epoch, Early Late Cretaceous.

Material: A complete cervical VI.
