Etymology: From the Volga River, European
Russia and Latin, draco, "dragon."
Species: bogolubovi AVERIANOV, ARKHANGELSKY & PERVUSHOV, 2008
Etymology:
In honor of N. N. Bogolyubov, who described the first pterosaur from Russia,
which was the first representative of the famly Azhdarchidae known
to science.
Holotype: SGU n. 46/104a
Locality: Shirokii Karamysh 2 locality, Saratov Region, Volga Region, European Russia.
Horizon: Phosphorite conglomerate of the Rubushka Formation.
Biostratigraphy:
Age: Early Campanian Stage, Senonian Stage, Gulf Epoch, Late Cretaceous.
Material: Anterior part of the lower jaw symphysis (Mandibular beak).
