Genus: Zhenyuanopterus LÜ, 2010
Etymology: Zhenyuan, the Chinese pinyin for Mr. Sun Zhenyuan, who offered
the beautiful specimen for scientific study and Greek, -pterus, "wing"; a common
suffix of pterosaur taxa.
Species: longirostris LÜ, 2010
Etymology: Latin, longirostris, "long snouted," indicating that the new pterosaur
with a long rostrum.
Holotype: GLGMV 0001
Locality: Huangbanjgou, Shangyuan, Beipiao City, Liaoning Province, China.
Horizon: Yixian Formation.
