Etymology: Masculine from inferno, in reference to hell Creek Formation, and Greek, drakon, "dragon".

Species: hastacollis THOMAS, HONE, GOMES & PETERSON, 2025
Etymology: Hasta, a type of Roman spear, and Latin, collum, "neck". In reference to the highly gracile and elongate construction of the mid-servical vertebrae. Hastacollis also alludes to Azhdarcho lancicollis Nesov, 1984, named for the lancea, a different type of Roman spear. 'Spear-necked dragon from Hell.'
