Genus: Spinarerpeton KLEMBARA, 2009
  Etymology: In honor of the late Prof. Z. V. Spinar (Faculty of Natural Sciences,
  Charles University in Prague) who extensively studied discosauriscids from
  the Boskovice Furrow in Moravia in the 1950's and 1960's, and Greek, herpeton,
"a crawling animal."
Species: brevicephalum KLEMBARA, 2009 
Etymology: Latin, brevis, "short" and Latin, cephale, "head."
Holotype: SNM Z 26701
Locality: Kochov-L, about 500 m NE from Kochov, near Letovice, Boskovice Furrow (or Boskovice Basin), Moravia, Czech Republic.
Horizon: Letovice Formation.
Biostratigraphy: Xenacanthus decheni biozone.
Age: Autunian, Asselian Stage, Lower Rotliegendes Epoch, Early Permian.
Material: Skull and most of postcranial skeleton.
