Etymology: In reference to the Eromanga Basin, Northern Queensland State, Australia, the most productive region in Australian for Cretaceous marine reptile fossils, and Greek, sauros, "lizard."

Etymology: Greek, carin, "keel" and Greek, gnathus, "jaw"; referring to the prominent midline keel on the posteroventral portion of the mandibular symphysis. Gender masculine.

Locality: Yamborra Creek, near Maxwelton, Northern Queensland State, Australia.

Horizon: Toolebuc Formation, Rolling Downs Group.

Biostratigraphy: P. ludbrookiae zone/upper C. paradoza-P. pannosus zone.

Age: Mid to Late Albian Stage, Middle Gallic Subepoch, Upper Early Cretaceous Epoch, Early Cretaceous.

Material: Badly crushed skull and mandible in 2 pieces, 5 anterior cervical vertebrae including atlas-axis complex.
