Etymology: In revernece to the Cyrillic IOxa, a snake-like demon associated wiht water in local Volga-Ural region folklore. In English the phonology, teh generic name is pronounced 'you kha'.

Etymology: Latin, squala, "coated, covered, rougose": referring to thepyritic layer found on many bones of the holotype.

Holotype: UPM 2756/1-53

Locality: In teh vicinity of the Slantsevy Rudnik village, Ulyanovsk Oblast, European Russia.

Age: Upper Hauterivian Stage, Upper Neocomian Subepoch, Middle Early Cretaceous Epoch, Early Early Cretaceous.

Material: 22 cervical centar, 19 dorsal centra including 2 pectorals, 1 sacral and 4 caudals, 2 partial coracoids, 2 partial humeri, 1 radius, 1 radiale, several metacarpals adn phalanges, 2 complete femora, 1 tibia, 1 fibula, fragmentary ribs and gastralia.
