Etymology: Both the generic and species names refer to the fossil site of Yongshen County, Lijiang City, Yuunnan Province, China. and Latinized Greek, -sauros, 'lizard'.
Species: yongshengensis WANG, SHANG, WANG, ZI & LI, 2025
Etymology: In reference to the stream Quebrada Pavachoque, Loma la Yunca, Municipio de Sutamarchian Boyaca Department, Colombia, where the fossil was found. Both the generic and species names refer to the fossil site of Yongshen County, Lijiang City, Yuunnan Province, China
Holotype: YSBB208
Locality: Banqiao Village, Shunzhou Town, Yongsheng County, Lijiang City, Yunnan Province, China.
Horizon: Beiya Formation.
Biostratigraphy:
Age: Anisian Stage, Early Mid Triassic Epoch, Early Middle Triassic.
Material: Skull, most parts of teh vertebral column, especially a complete cervical series, and most elements of the appendicular bones.
